St. Nikola Church

The Church of St. Nicholas is the largest church in the old city of Perast. It is located in the central square and has a large bell tower. It gained its present appearance in 1616 after being built on the ruins of an earlier church from 1564. Next to this old church there is an unfinished church at the back, designed by Venetian architect Giuseppe Beati, and the bell tower was built in 1691 by Ivan Scarpa, and is 55 meters high. Although it was built during the Baroque period, the bell tower is characterized by Renaissance and Romanesque styles.
