Stamp Museum
The idea of creating a stamp museum arose in the 1920s during the reign of the leaders of the Hungarian Post Office. The idea of allowing the public to see the philatelic collections was realized ten years later, and as a result of careful preparatory work the Stamp Museum of the Hungarian Royal Mail was inaugurated on 28 April 1930 on the top floor of the Postal Palace. Stamps have been in circulation and antique or unique pieces have been acquired through exchange or given to the museum as a gift. Besides special publication stamps, drawings and stamps are also on display prior to their official release with unique Hungarian seals, presses and stamps.
