Statue of William Rees
William Gilbert Rees was an explorer, surveyor, and early settler of central Otago, New Zealand. He and his fellow explorer, Nicholas von Tunzelmann, were the first Europeans to settle the Wakatipu Basin of Otago, and Reese is considered the founder of the beautiful city of Queenstown, and the people of the city erected this statue in honor of him and his achievements.
