Description of the place
Seokjungmun Gate is one of the four great historical city gates that surrounded Seoul during the Joseon Dynasty. It is also the northern gate of the city. It can be visited through a tour along the Seoul city wall. It was rarely used in the past, as it was used only in ceremonial and symbolic functions. Today, it is a popular tourist destination for hiking and seeing the most beautiful natural and archaeological landscapes.
