Tahtani Mosque
Although the exact date of the construction of the Tahtani Mosque and the person who did it is unknown, it is believed that it was built in 1557 and that it was repaired by Osman Pasha, the ruler of Marash in 1563. It is said that the mosque was first built of wood, and then restored. It was built of cut stone and today has a transverse rectangular plan parallel to the qiblah. The front part of the mihrab is covered with a dome and other parts are covered with cross vaults. The mihrab itself is in the form of a semi-circle made of impressive red marble.
