Tettye Ruins
The ruins of Tete lie on a plateau near Pecs, and today form a park of four and a half hectares serving exclusively as a green park and place of leisure, surrounded on three sides by hills. The arena itself was established on the site of a quarry, which is believed to have also been used by the Romans; Its name may be derived from the Turkish word "tekia", which means "monastery". The word refers to the summer palace of Bishop György Szathmáry, which was built at the beginning of the sixteenth century and was used as a monastery for dervishes in the Turkish era; The ruins of the Summer Palace in the southern part of the square are a favorite tourist attraction and also serve as an open-air theater in the summer.
