Description of the place
The Guanajuato Tunnels appeared several centuries ago because the Guanajuato River channel passed under the city, which led to constant flooding during the rainy season. To avoid this, the first water channels appeared, which were characterized by a unique engineering nature. Guanajuato has more than 8 kilometers of underground streets spread over 23 tunnels, each telling its own story and keeping secrets or legends to discover.
