The Holocaust Memorial
Near the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial is a simple tribute to the Jews who died as a result of Hitler's extermination plan. The 2,711 panels are arranged in a wave-like shape over an area of approximately 205,000 square feet. Each stone is unique, and varies in height from the rest. The paths between the panels show the larger picture of the landmark being a single unit of instability and confusion. There is no set pattern and visitors can walk in any direction through the stones.
