It was built in 1365 AH - 1946 AD by order of King Abdulaziz Al Saud. It was a guest palace until the year 1378 AH. It was the seat of Al-Zaher Intermediate School. On the tenth of Shaban 1427 AH, the palace was opened to visitors as a museum for the Makkah Region of Antiquities and Heritage, after its restoration and restoration to its previous state when it was built. It includes 13 halls for shows, and another for VIP visitors, a place designated for museum management, a hall for lectures, a library, and warehouses. These halls include: Hall of Saudi Antiquities - Hall of Prehistory - Hall of Geological and Natural History - Hall of Pre-Islam - Hall of the Prophet's Biography - Hall of the Development of Writing - Hall of Currency - Hajj Hall - Hall of the Grand Mosque Building - Hall of the Saudi State - Hall of Education - Hall of Meccan Heritage - Hall of Masterpieces of Islamic Art.
