The monument of Adam Mickiewicz
The Adam Mickiewicz monument mediates the city of Sopot, and it is one of the most important statues in Poland. This monument was unveiled to the romantic poet and national hero Adam Bernard Mickiewicz in 1898 AD to celebrate the centenary of his birth. The monument consists of a huge stone engraved with the image and information of the late, and like many other national symbols, it was destroyed by the occupying Germans during the Second World War.
