Located beside the Japanese Covered Bridge in Hoi An, Fung Hung Ancient House is a famous architectural building and is considered a cultural heritage of the city. The house is a typical merchant house with a unique structure with tall logs and wide hallways, reflecting the evolution and fusion of Asian architectural styles in this city over the past centuries. The first owner of this house was a Vietnamese trader, and he called the house "Phung Hung" meaning "prosperity" because he wanted the place to be successful. In the past, it was a store selling forest products such as cinnamon, pepper, salt, silk, earthenware and glassware; The current owner is the eighth descendant who still lives in and maintains this old house.
