The Old Windmill
An old mill, included in the National Archeological Heritage List, which is one of the few oldest buildings still standing today, and it is also the oldest windmill in Australia, dating back to 1824. This mill was used to grind corn and wheat, to feed the population Colonists from the colony, but the mill stopped grinding grain in 1845, and the tower was reused as a signal station for shipping news between the entrance of the Brisbane River and the city in 1855, and major renovations took place in 1861, then the windmill tower was used as a communications research facility early telephone, radio, and television since the 1920s, and also underwent major maintenance work in the 1980s and 2009.
