The Pearl Monument

The Pearl Monument is located in the Qatari city of Doha and is considered one of the most important tourist attractions in it. Before the discovery of oil in Qatar in 1939, pearl diving was one of the main sources of income in Qatar. On Corniche Street, just before entering Dow Harbor, stands the Pearl Monument, which depicts a giant open oyster statue offering a huge pearl in its mouth. This fountain, which lights up at night, provides the perfect photo opportunity while paying homage to Qatar's pearling history.
