The Saint Nicolas Tower

Together, the Tower of Saint-Nicolas and the Tower of the Chain form the majestic gateway to the old port of La Rochelle. The Tower of Saint-Nicolas was slightly leaning. Named after the patron saint of sailors, it was built in the 14th century to protect the entrance to the port. Today, it is one of the most prominent tourist attractions in La Rochelle.
