The Traditional Siwa House

The Siwa House Museum is located in the heart of the Siwa Oasis. It was built in the old Siwa style to tell the history of the city and how its inhabitants lived in the past. The museum was built using traditional building techniques for the people of Siwa. The construction material was used as krishif, which is a mixture of sun-dried rock salt and clay. This material preserves On moderate temperatures inside the houses, and the roof was made of palm wood or what is called "palm leaves". The museum displays handicrafts, traditional clothes, pottery, silverware and many more.
