The Thich Quang Duc Memorial in Ho Chi Minh City honors Buddhist monk Thich Quang Duc's last heroic stand in the face of religious discrimination, immolating himself in the middle of a busy road to protest the murder of Buddhists by then President Ngo Dinh Diem. Dinh Diem), and his bravery is immortalized by this monument which shows him enshrouded in flames in front of a bas-relief.
