Torre dello Ziro

It is a watchtower located at the top of the slopes of the city of Amalfi. It was built as a strategic location and a watchtower to protect against the attack of Saracen pirates during the fifteenth century AD, as it was built by Duke Antonio Piccolomini on the ruins of an earlier tower from the twelfth century. The tower offers a charming panoramic view of the coast and the picturesque natural features of green fields, towering mountains and rocky slopes. The distinctive black and white bell tower can be seen from the top of the tower, and the tower is also surrounded by a group of dense pine forests.
