Vadakkechira
Vadakichira is one of the four oldest ponds in the Indian city of Thrissur. It was built by the locals for irrigation, bathing and recreation. Elephants used to bathe on the southern side of the pond. The municipality renovated the pond in 1995 and added sessions, gates, swimming pools, fountains, a gallery and a rock garden. The pond has become one of the most famous tourist attractions in the city, so do not miss the opportunity to visit it!
