Valmeekam Tribal Museum
museum that displays the tribal history of the province of Wayanad, located in the north of the state of Kerala. The museum was opened after the province of Wayanad offered the Ministry of Antiquities part of its national library to establish an archaeological museum that tells the history of the province through all the artifacts discovered within its borders. The museum aims to shed light on the role played by the province on the border with several states throughout Indian history, with emphasis on its role as a center for trade with neighboring states and as a border town. The museum has two floors and displays 1,000 artifacts that have been excavated in Wayanad over the years.
