The Van Abbe Museum is located in the center of Eindhoven, and it is a museum of modern and contemporary art. It is considered one of the most famous museums in the city. The museum was established in 1936 and named after its founder, Henry van Abbe, who was a lover of art. Since 2010, the museum has more than 2,700 works of art, including about 1,000 on paper, 700 paintings, 1,000 sculptures and video works. It also includes one of the largest collections of paintings in the world by the famous Russian artist El Lissitzky. The museum also includes works by the painter The famous Spaniard Pablo Picasso.
