Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam

Vandeyur Mariman Thippakulam is a beautiful square water tank spread over a vast area of about 16 acres, surrounding the Thippakulam temple in Madurai, a pilgrimage temple where pilgrims come throughout the year to worship Lord Vigneshwara. The tank is considered the largest of its kind in the state of Tamil Nadu, and it is characterized by a distinctive design that includes stairs, statues, and decorations. Many religious ceremonies are held here in this square, including the Flute Festival in February of each year, which is a celebration of the birth anniversary of King Thirumalai Nayak, the ruler of Madurai.
