Velipoja Protected Landscape

The Filipoya Nature Reserve (Buna River Nature Reserve) is considered one of the most important areas of coastal wetlands, modern coastal dune deposits and inland karst low hills in the country. It is located between Lake Shkodra and the Adriatic Sea. It was classified as a protected natural area in 2005 AD. This reserve extends over an area of 23,027 hectares, and it has a variety of landscapes and geological types, and many rare birds take it as their home.
