The giant Ferris wheel was built in 1897 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Emperor Franz Joseph's accession to the throne. It has been a permanent feature of the city's skyline ever since. Located near the entrance to the Wurstelprater Amusement Park, its cabins offer a great view of the city.
