Wagrain Castle
Wagrain Castle is the ruins of a famous stone castle dating back to around 1200 AD. It was built by the Lords of Goldegg in a convenient place as a fortress, surrounded by cliffs on all sides as a natural protection. The castle was distinguished at that time by its contemporary building, in which there were watch towers, fortified walls, and rooms for treating the wounded. Today, due to natural factors and wars, there are only traces left of the castle.
