The Buddhist temple of Wat Jit Lin was built in the late sixteenth century AD, and its name means the Temple of the Seven Channels, as seven channels run beneath it and are surrounded by water ponds. It was also used to celebrate the coronation ceremonies of the Lanna kings in the sixteenth century; It also embraces ornate carvings, large monastic chedi, and a gilded Buddha.
