Located next to the Chiang Saen National Museum, Wat Phratat Chedi Luang is an ancient main bell-shaped chedi 88 meters high and 24 meters in circumference at the base. It was built by King Saen Phu; The third ruler of the Lanna Dynasty in 1290, this temple is the tallest religious monument of Lanna architecture in Chiang Rai and features an interesting collection of Buddhist statues surrounded by beautiful nature.
