West Church (Westerkerk)

Located on the western side of Amsterdam's famous canal district, this church was built at the same time as these waterways. It was built specifically for Calvinist services and is a landmark of Dutch Renaissance architecture in Amsterdam. The towering church towers 86 meters high and contains 51 giant bells that can be heard from all over the De Jordaan district. The church is the largest and most important Calvinist place of worship in Amsterdam.
