Whaler’s Museum
The Whaling Museum is located in three old houses where whalers used to keep their old boats and equipment. It is a group of buildings dating back to the nineteenth century that still retains many of its original features. In it, you can learn about whaling, which was one of the most important activities in the history of Pico Island and the Azores. The museum also displays a collection of tools and equipment used in whaling, in addition to carved and engraved pieces made of whale bones and teeth, a form of folk art known as "scrimshaw".
