Yavuz Sultan Selim Mosque
The Sultan Selim I Mosque, also known as the Yavuz Selim Mosque, is an Ottoman imperial mosque located on the fifth hill in Istanbul, overlooking the picturesque Golden Horn. In the city, as it was built by order of the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent in memory of his father, Selim I, who died in 1520, and it was completed in 1528.
