Description of the place
The Ahi Elvan Mosque dates back to the late fourteenth century and is located in the middle of the historic Ulus district, right next to the castle. The main attraction of the mosque lies in its unusual pulpit, which was specially designed to be a masterpiece in the world of mosques. The most used material in the mosque is wood. There are twelve wooden columns supporting the roof. The mosque is characterized by Islamic architecture and simplicity that reflects the mosque's antiquity and nobility.
