Al-Jahili Fort
Al Jahili Fort is located in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. It was established in 1891 AD around the Al-Jahili Oasis to defend the city and protect the precious palm plantations. The Oman Coast Scouts previously used it for their missions to protect the mountain passes and maintain peace between the tribes. This history is supported by what Percy Cox mentioned on his trip to Al Ain in 1905, where he mentioned that he visited the Al Jahili region, which was built six years before that date, and Lorimer mentions in 1906 that the construction of Al Jahili Fort developed under the rule of Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan. The castle is distinguished by its attractive Arab architectural style, as it is considered an important historical and archaeological place.
