Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve
The Marmoom Reserve extends over an area of 10 percent of the total area of Dubai, and is the largest non-fenced nature reserve in the United Arab Emirates. It is also home to the largest renewable energy project in the region; Mohammed bin Rashid Solar Park. Known for its impressive sustainability initiatives, the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve is rich in local wildlife, and hosts one of the largest concentrations of Arabian Oryx in Dubai and the highest concentration of large flamingos in the UAE. The reserve enjoys more than 40 hectares of fertile lands and bushes, and is home to more than 204 species of local birds, 158 species of migratory birds and many other endangered species, and more than 10 square meters of lakes that include Al Qudra Lakes.
