Description of the place
The Art Gallery was founded in 1877 at the initiative of the Hungarian National Society of Fine Arts. The exhibition hall on Heroes' Square was erected in 1896 to celebrate the Millennium, and it was designed by Albert Schikedanz. Since the building's renovation in 1995, the Art Gallery has welcomed visitors and pioneers of Hungarian and international contemporary artists alike.
