Beomeusa Temple is located on the eastern edge of the famous Geumjeongsan Mountain in Busan. It was founded by the monk Uisang in 678 AD. It is one of the three most famous temples in Yeongnam. Most of the original Beomeusa Temple site was lost during the Imjin War (1592-1598), but Restored in 1613 and still standing today, Daeongjeon Hall is considered one of the most luxurious buildings in the Joseon Dynasty. The temple runs a Templestay program for visitors to learn more about Buddhist culture and self-discovery.
