Bas Cupro is one of the most important monuments in the region. This bridge was built 15,000 years ago along the Sarkaya River and was built by the Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian I (527-565 AD) to improve communications between the capital, Constantinople, and the eastern provinces of his empire. It is about 430 meters long and 9.83 meters wide. The bridge was built of limestone. Although it has been renovated several times, it still maintains its old and antique character. If you are a fan of history and antiquities, do not miss visiting this distinctive landmark during your visit to the city of Sapanca in Turkey.
