Carob Mill Museum
The Carob Mill Museum is one of the distinguished historical museums in the city of Limassol, which includes equipment from the twentieth century that was previously used to process carob fruit. At that time, carob fruit was one of the main products used by Cyprus for export, and the carob tree was called "black gold". Because it was highly valued not only in Cyprus, but also far beyond its borders. Today, in a restored 20th-century building that used to be a former factory, you can see some of the equipment used in the processing of carob, and right at the entrance (formerly the first room) there is a large industrial scale on which carob is weighed and some of the important tools and equipment used in the manufacture of juice and syrup.
