Description of the place
The Virgin Castle is located in the city of Santa Cruz de la Palma on the island of La Palma. It was built in the style of Santa Catalina Castle in the seventeenth century to defend against pirate attacks, and overlooks stunning views of the city and the sea. The merchant Don Jose Gabriel Martín building a storehouse and equipping it with twenty-one iron cannons.
