Cathedral of San Ciriaco
The Cathedral of San Ciriaco or as it is called "Ancona Cathedral" is the Roman Catholic cathedral in Ancona. It is a church dedicated to St. Cyriacus, Archbishop of Ancona. It occupies mainly the site of the Roman Temple of Venus, and includes the remains of a church from the fifth to sixth centuries AD. The building is an example of merging Roman, Byzantine and Gothic architectural elements together, resulting in an integrated architectural masterpiece. The building is distinguished by the decorations and inscriptions that fill the snow-white walls, in addition to the statues and carvings that decorate the cathedral from the inside and outside.
