Cathedral of San Rufino
The Basilica of San Rufino, also known as the "Assisi Cathedral", dates back to the thirteenth century. It is dedicated to Saint Rufinus of Assisi. It is characterized by the Umbrian Romanesque style. It is the third church built on the same site to contain the remains of Bishop Rufinus. The history of the Franciscan Order, in this church Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Clare and many of their original disciples were baptized.
