Cesme Castle
During the growth of the Ottoman Empire, Çımşe was subjected to two attacks by the Venetians in 1472 and 1501, so the castle was built as a precaution against further attacks. It was built in 1508, during the reign of the Ottoman Sultan Bayezit II, and its commissioner was Mir Haydar, the ruler of Eidin Vilayet. This castle was originally coastal, but due to alluvial deposits, it moved away from the shore a little. The castle with a rectangular plan contains moats on three sides with six bastions, and the monument of Cezirli Gazi Hassan Pasha is located in front of the castle, and the castle embraces the Chimchi Museum, and it is used as a center for the Chimchi International Music Festival, which is held every year.
