Description of the place
Çakvenci Castle is located near Zugdidi. The oldest layer of the building dates back to the 5th and 6th centuries, the next layer to the advanced Middle Ages, and finally the castle underwent reconstruction in the 16th and 17th centuries; This castle was one of the residences of King Dadiani. Tourists visit it by going on walking trails to learn about its history and enjoy the natural surroundings.
