Chiesa di S. Francesco

Dating back to 1316, St. Francisco's Church is one of the oldest buildings in the city and a place visited by tens of thousands of tourists and locals every year. The church was restored in the year 1583 and a Roman-style basilica facade was added to it, and an inscription in the rock containing the symbols of the inhabitants of the town of Locarno at that time, and the eagle symbol represented the nobility, the cow symbol represented the bourgeois class, and the lamb symbol represented the landowners.
