Chiesa di San Salvatore de Birecto - Atrani
The Church of San Salvatore di Pericto is located in Atrani. During the era of the Amalfi Republic, the church was the Palatine Chapel, where dukes were crowned and their ashes placed inside. The oldest remains are represented by a tombstone from the fourteenth century, depicting the noblewoman Dama Atrani Filippa Napolitano, and a marble stela from the twelfth century depicting two peacocks as this bird is revered by many eastern peoples and is a symbol of vanity and pride and well represents the quality prevailing in the nobility Amalfi. The bronze doors are divided into panels of great artistic value, containing an effigy of Christ, the Virgin Mary and some saints
