Church of the Holy Trinity
Built in the 19th century, the Church of the Holy Trinity is one of the most famous churches in Porto and forms part of the complex of buildings of the Hospital of the Third Order of the Holy Trinity, created in 1755 after the abolition of the Congregation of Saint Dominic. The church occupies a neoclassical building with some features of the Baroque tradition, and was designed by the architect and military man Carlos Amarante. Inside the church, visitors can note the artistic quality of the decoration, especially the marble work and the carved and gilded woodwork of the altar panels.
