Clausholm Castle

Clausholm Castle was built in the 1690s, and with its fourteen stucco ceilings, painted panels and exquisite interiors, Clausholm is one of the most beautiful Baroque castles in Denmark. The Baroque castle today looks extraordinarily authentic, thanks to the many major restorations that have been carried out on it. The castle is surrounded by a very green Baroque garden with walking paths and a majestic fountain. Clausholm was decorated by a number of the most talented and famous European artists of the time, including the Italian artist Carlo Tagliati, who completed in 1697 AD the lavishly decorated ceiling in the main hall, and the castle has the largest number of stucco ceilings in Northern Europe , which distinguishes it from the rest of the castles in the country.
