prominent chapel within the boundaries of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the city of Jerusalem, and the dome was built in the year 690 AD. The Dome of the Rock is distinguished by its octagonal construction and has four doors. The Golden Dome appears as a prominent and important landmark that attracts attention. From the inside, the chapel includes the honorable rock, which is a natural rock whose height ranges about two meters, and from which the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, ascended to heaven on the night of the Isra’ and Mi’raj. Inside the Dome of the Rock lies a small cave called the Cave of Spirits. The dome is surrounded by the wide squares that lead to Al-Aqsa Mosque, in which visitors gather to pray and sit, especially in the holy month of Ramadan.
