Description of the place
The Famagusta Gate is one of the most important gates of the Cypriot city of Nicosia, and it opens on the road leading to the most important port city on the island, from which it derives its name. This gate was originally known as "Porta Giuliana" in honor of Giulio Savorgnano, the engineer who designed and built the city walls. Rectangular for guards.
