Panagia Faneromeni

This church is the most important religious center on the island, especially in the city of Larnaca. This monastery is located on a hill, and offers a wonderful view of the northern side of the island and the opposite coasts. This landmark is considered the sacred protector of the island, according to traditions handed down through generations. It was built in 1634 in place of an ancient temple dedicated to Artemis, the goddess of the hunt. Otherwise, the surrounding area is full of cafes and restaurants, so you can stop in one of them after your visit to this picturesque old church.
