Former Dieguino Convent Museum

In the heart of Guanajuato is the Museum of the Former Convent of Digueno, restored from the 1780 flood, and in which the original level of the city (5 meters below the current level) is displayed, and is the only place where it can be seen, thanks to the interest in archeology in Guanajuato that began in 1996, today it is possible to appreciate this heritage gem that has been buried for more than 200 years and that still preserves traces of the original wall painting of the Digueno Monastery which was dedicated to providing spiritual pastures, housing, food and assistance to orphans, the elderly and the needy.
