Fort St. Francis Javier was built in 1662 in a place called "Do Quejo" to protect the city of Porto from the Spanish fleet. It is often called the "Cheese Castle". It is surrounded by a moat. It has watch boxes in its four corners. Inside it is a headquarters. The ruler's residence at that time and a small church, but nowadays it is considered a theater that hosts many temporary exhibitions.
